artist biography

VERAPAT SITIPOL (b. 1980) was born in Aranya Prathet, Sa Kaeo province, Thailand. he has loved to draw and paint since he was little. in art school he was fascinated by the techniques of Europe’s Impressionists and Expressionists.

after graduating from Silpakorn University in 2004, he won a leading prize from Krung Thai bank in a national art exhibition. he later completed a master’s degree in fine arts at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India. the experience in India opened up a world of international artist communities and exposure.
he returned to Thailand in 2006 and has since exhibited at Galerie N and The National Gallery, Bangkok. he moved to Kanchanaburi province in 2010 and resumed work in his studio. amidst the inspiring green surroundings of Kanchanaburi, he produced The Forest Seasons, his most stylistically definitive works to date.
