ACCOLADES GALORE

ACCOLADES GALORE FOR SALA PHUKET
SALA Phuket sweeps up two new awards.
WINE SPECTATOR - AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2011
SALA Phuket Restaurant has once again joined the prestigious list of restaurants who can proudly boast recognition from Wine Spectator having been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2011 for the second year running.
The already renowned Phuket restaurant achieved this accolade by having an exquisite wine offering which has been recognized as being one of the most outstanding wine lists on the island. Wine Spectator is the most widely read wine magazine in the world and recently awarded SALA Phuket Restaurant based on their extensive wine list, enticing dinner menu and designated wine program.
Each wine list must pass rigorous evaluations, demonstrating that the wine selection, service, cuisine and ambience are worthy of the program’s recognition. Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine connoisseurs.
SMART TRAVEL ASIA - TOP 25 LEISURE RESORTS
SALA Phuket Resort and Spa has once again featured in the Smart Travel Asia – Best in Travel Poll for 2011, having received a coveted placement in the Top 25 Best Leisure Hotels and Resorts List.
The SmartTravelAsia.com BEST IN TRAVEL POLL – now in its seventh year – is a distillation of readers’ perceptions and favourite travel brands. Their vote is based on substantial hands-on travel experience, word-of-mouth at dinnertime chats, as well as an idea of the brand drawn from advertising and editorial exposure in the media, a great deal of this online.
The poll ran for three key months from May to July. On average, voters took 15.75 air trips 12 months and earned US$156,716 in household income. Approximately 60 percent were based in Asia, 20 percent in UK/Europe and 20 percent in USA and North America. As many as 92.4 percent of the voters said they drew their primary image of brands from the Internet and 88.8 percent said they made travel decisions online. However, just 36% said they book online, many preferring to talk with a human being especially for high-end bookings. Most readers said they went online primarily to seek independent "reviews and information" first and not just the "best price".
SALA Phuket was selected out of several thousand potential properties in Asia, spanning a region from Australia to the Middle East.
